The Star Prince

The third Performance

→Japanese page

Written by Saint-Exupery
Directed by Peter Gessner
Performance date: November 1996
Venue: Aoba Elementary School Gymnasium (Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City)

A simple stage set was made by hand, consisting of a jungle-gym-like device made of pipes connected together and covered with a yellow cloth to look like a desert.
Four actors, including Gessner, performed a number of roles in the play, giving it the feel of a street play.
In 2009-2010, we produced a full-scale stage play based on this production at the Sengawa Theatre in Chofu City.

– Message from the director
Using a very simple and limited prop , we tried to create a quite imaginable theater world. Even so we still keep the reality for adult audiences.
